Area legislators Kari Dziedzic, Diane Loeffler and Phyllis Kahn are holding town hall meetings Jan. 23 & 30 to hear from constituents and discuss the state’s new program allowing residents to refinance high interest college loans.
Sen. Dziedzic (DFL-60) and Rep. Loeffler (DFL-60A) will be holding a town hall meeting Saturday, Jan. 23, 9 a.m. at Bottineau Park, 2000 2nd St. NE. Then they will host another meeting Jan. 23 at 11:30 a.m. at Audubon Park, 1320 29th Ave. NE.
They lawmakers will be joined by Rep. Kahn (DFL-60B) for another town hall meeting Saturday, Jan. 30, 9 a.m. at Van Cleve Park, 901 15th Ave. SE.
The new refinancing program is open to residents who have completed a college degree and have between $10,000 and $70,000 in debt. Borrowers with a FICO credit score of 720 or higher are eligible (those with a credit score of at least 650 need a co-signer with a score of 720).
